yay, i drew some things for my folio as i have a couple of interviews, the last one isn't great but w.e. I am running out of images to draw, as i can manage profiles but straight on portraits are pretty much a no-go. plus these drawings don't actually relate to my photography very well, bet hey ho. better than nothing, all drawn with a 0.2 uni pin fine line, which is a beaut far better than the pilot liquid ink I've been using before. Inspired by ekaterina koroleva , at some point i'm going to try to draw hair :(

self portraits

i really like portraits, but not of myself, its far to difficult and i always over analyse my face. However due to being cooped up at home i tried to take some "honest" self portraits, no makeup. I played with editing again, definately going to invest in photoshop so i can do circles of colour etc, make it a bit more interesting.

these are pretty awkward and raw, i think i would love them if it wasn't my face, 3rd/4th is a classic myspace angle, but i genuinely like how awkward it looks.

milk & orange

if i ever need a blog make-over it's definitely being renamed as milk &orange, i hate milk and orange juice with a vengeance, but i like the colour combo of orange and white, useless information. anyway i took these whilst making myself noodles.

beginning of the digital era

cheeky test shot on the new cannon. I've been brave and am hoping to move back into digital and moving image. very exciting. so far in the few hours i've had both lens and body it is living up to my expectations, filming is gorgeous, i am thoroughly impressed by this camera's range and hundreds of options and features. It's going to take me a while to find out what suits me best, but this is really going to refine my technical skills.

However at around 4-7 MB a photo, not shot in RAW (i'm yet to explore that) i am definitely going to need a new hard drive, as well as a flash, a battery grip, new UV filters, a movie editor, screen protectors, external microphone and that's just the basics covered, im going to have to wish extra hard this birthday.

Today i also received an "invitation" on UCAS from MMU, just need to wait to hear from the university to find out when my interview is. I'm in dire need of setting up a portfolio, i plan to be rising very early and snapping very frequently. After that i will be filming some video's for Chicken Bone John to promote his products and skills. all very exciting, expect lot's of blogging, starting with tomorrow, a trip to china town, to try out this camera's portraiture potential.

Low and behold it's the firstpetwhohappenstowalkby shot, every new camera owner should do this, trying to find random subjects playing with all your settings, grumpy cats are always handy.
